We're excited to share the latest issue of DHPSNY News, our annual publication. This year’s issue chronicles the DHPSNY team's adventures delivering free programs and services to collecting organizations in the Empire State. The Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts (CCAHA) in Philadelphia is seeking a Preservation Specialist for the Documentary Heritage and Preservation Services for New York (DHPSNY) program.

The DHPSNY Preservation Specialist conducts preservation surveys, assists with archival and preservation planning, develops and presents educational programs, and provides technical assistance to libraries, archives, museums, historical societies, and other organizations across New York State.

Documentary Heritage and Preservation Services for New York (DHPSNY) is a unique program in both its structure and its services, so it comes as no surprise that we often get asked about DHPSNY and the assistance we provide to New York State organizations. DHPSNY is a joint program of the New York State Library and New York State Archives, which are overseen by the NYS Office of Cultural Education. The Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts in Philadelphia was selected to deliver DHPSNY services on their behalf.

Dear DHPSNY Community,

DHPSNY is continually evaluating our services to ensure we are meeting the needs of collecting institutions across New York State.

We have developed this short survey for you to share your thoughts, concerns, and emerging needs with us directly. Your responses will help inform the delivery and development of our programs and services moving forward!

As DHPSNY has been working towards a return to in-person Planning & Assessment services, and increasing the direct webinars and conversations around antiracism work for collecting institutions with Aria Strategies, we also want to revisit the last year of work spent sharing resources through this blog, as well as discuss our plans for the next direction the blog will take.

In our most recent webinar presentation co-facilitators Aria Camaione-Lind and Meredith Horsford used the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum Alliance as a case study to explore organizational policy that yields antiracist results. Aria and Meredith introduced sample statements and policies that have supported antiracist action at other organizations, and invited conversation and participation around creating statements and policies for organizations in attendance. This webinar is a part of an ongoing collaboration with the Aria Strategies team, with our next program coming up in November.
