Emergency preparedness is one of the most important steps any cultural institution can take to safeguard its collections. In week one of this online course, we’ll provide an overview of key elements of emergency preparation in self-paced modules, focusing on the emergency management cycle, risk assessment, components of a preparedness and response plan, and determining salvage priorities. Students will put this new knowledge into practice during week two, with collaborative group work to draft an emergency preparedness plan.
Learning Outcomes
- Increased understanding of the emergency management cycle, salvage priorities, and risk assessment
- Increased confidence in writing and editing an emergency preparedness plan
