The New York State Archives is pleased to announce the availability of the guidelines and application for the 2019-2020 Documentary Heritage Program (DHP) grants. DHP grants support improved access to historical records in New York State by funding arrangement and description projects and documentation projects. Applications are currently open for DHPSNY's free Planning & Assessment Services, and our next deadline for review is quickly approaching on November 16! If you have been thinking about applying, now is time to start! We are currently accepting applications for all four of our services:

We will be launching our annual Statewide Constituent Needs Survey on Monday, October 29. This important survey was developed for collecting institutions to help identify urgent collections care needs in New York State. Your responses will directly shape the scope and content of DHPSNY's programs and services.

A new season of DHPSNY webinars kicked off last week, and the first was packed with valuable information for cultural institutions in New York State.

We're excited to announce a new class of Planning & Assessment Services sites from our summer application round of 2018. We look forward to beginning site visits for the following institutions in the coming weeks. Application materials for DHPSNY's Planning & Assessment Services are accepted year-round and reviewed three times a year. DHPSNY is excited to announce a new online application platform for our Planning & Assessment Services!

DHPSNY staff will be on hand for this year's joint meeting of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) , Council of State Archivists (CoSA) , and National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA) . The Archives⭐Records 2018 conference will take place August 12th-19th at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C.

Last week, we presented the final two sessions of our summer Photo Preservation workshop series at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute in Jamestown (Chautauqua County) and the George Eastman Museum in Rochester (Monroe County, pictured). Ready or not, it's time to start looking ahead to the fall! Starting in October, we'll present a new series on Mold in five convenient locations throughout the State. Each location will host morning and afternoon sessions of the same program. Register today for one of these ten sessions.

There's still time to submit your application for DHPSNY's current Planning & Assessment Services round. Applications for our summer 2018 review period are due this Friday, July 13th.
