The summer 2017 deadline just passed last week, and applications for our fall 2017 round are now open. Applications for the next round must be postmarked or received via email by Friday, November 17th.

The annual meeting of the Society of American Archivists is coming up later this month, and DHPSNY staff will be in attendance! This year's meeting takes place July 23-29 in Portland, Oregon, at the Portland Convention Center. As always, the conference will feature a variety of informative education sessions, workshops, special events, exhibits, and tours of local repositories.
In March, we concluded our second Planning & Assessment Services application round, and we're excited to announce our latest group of awardees. From a competitive pool of applications, our field reviewers selected 19 organizations to receive free Archival Needs Assessments, Preservation Surveys, and Strategic Planning assistance. Once again, we're very pleased with the diversity of this group, which includes collecting institutions both small and large, from local historical societies and libraries to nationally recognized science, media, and performing arts organizations
The deadline for DHPSNY's summer application review period has been EXTENDED to Friday, July 14, 2017! Applications must be postmarked or received via email by the deadline to be considered for the summer 2017 application round. Yesterday marked our first webinar hosted by DHPSNY Archives Specialist Amelia Parks, and it was packed with essential information for anyone charged with establishing a clear and consistent system to process, arrange, and locate archival materials. The presentation introduced key terms and concepts while highlighting portions of the Society of American Archivists' publication, Describing Archives: A Content Standard.
