Earlier this month, we began a busy period of conferences with the Greater Hudson Heritage Network's Annual Conference & Awards for Excellence. This week, we're in Buffalo for the annual Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC), where today at 3:45 PM, DHPSNY Program Coordinator Anastasia Matijkiw will chair a panel discussion on the DHPSNY program, featuring Archives Specialist Amelia Parks and representatives from the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, Lily Dale Assembly, and Lincoln Center, who have all taken part in DHPSNY's Planning & Assessment Services.
Just a few days after MARAC, we'll head to Poughkeepsie's Grande Hotel & Conference Center for this year's Association of Public Historians of New York State (APHNYS) conference, which runs October 30th-November 2nd. On the final day of the conference, Thursday, November 2nd, at 10:15 AM, Anastasia will speak on how public historians can use DHPSNY's services. Visit the APHNYS website for a complete schedule.
And finally, we're looking forward to this year's New York Library Association (NYLA) conference at the Saratoga Hilton in Saratoga Springs November 8th-11th. On Saturday, November 11th, at 10:45 AM, Anastasia will present a panel discussion overview of DHPSNY, this time with panelists Dori Gottschalk-Fielding, Coordinator, Mary Van Sickle Wait Local History Discovery Center, Seymour Public Library; and Sarah Oswald, Archives and Special Collections Librarian, Shaffer Library, Union College.
