DHPSNY News Has Landed

Jason

We're excited to announce the publication of our first annual newsletter! The centerpiece of this issue, "Looking Back: Highlights from Our First Year," is a detailed rundown of all that we've accomplished since we went online in the fall of 2016, including a look back at our educational workshops, conference presentations, and Planning & Assesment site visits. The inaugural issue of DHPSNY News really underscores what a busy and productive first year it's been, from the announcement of our first Planning & Assessment class to the launch of our Mentorship program and development of our first Statewide Survey.

This issue includes an interview with DHPSNY Preservation Specialist Gillian Marcus, and future issues promise eventually to introduce you to the entire DHPSNY team. We also chatted with friend of DHPSNY Dori Gottschalk-Fielding, Coordinator for Seymour Public Library's Mary Van Sickle Wait Local History Discovery Center. Dori talked to us about the Local History Discovery Center's collections and how a DHPSNY preservation survey report helped support a recent NEH grant application.

Thousands of copies went out last week to collecting institutions across the State, but if for some reason you weren't on the list, you can contact us at info@dhpsny.org to receive a copy. You can also pick one up at upcoming DHPSNY workshops in Cheektowaga, Corning, and Watertown, or at the upcoming MARAC, APHNYS, and NYLA conferences.
