Collection Committees

Hello,

In many of the Archival Needs Assessment reports, I suggest an institution creates a Collection Committee. In many places the archivist or collections manager works alone, and a Collection Committee can be a great way to relieve some of the stress that comes solo decision making. Collection Committees can approve acquisitions, help review policies, and approve and facilitate deaccessions. This blog is a little old, but it has some great ideas on how to streamline the committee functions and allow members to make decisions online.

Do any of you use a Collection Committee? If so, what is their role and what guideline do you have in place?
