DHPSNY's 2017 Statewide Survey is Underway
Join Us at Upcoming APHNYS and NYLA Conferences
Earlier this month, we began a busy period of conferences with the Greater Hudson Heritage Network's Annual Conference & Awards for Excellence. This week, we're in Buffalo for the annual Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC), where today at 3:45 PM, DHPSNY Program Coordinator Anastasia Matijkiw will chair a panel discussion on the DHPSNY program, featuring Archives Specialist Amelia Parks and representatives from the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, Lily Dale Assembly, and Lincoln Center, who have all taken part in DHPSNY's Planning & Assessment Services.

Congratulations to Our Latest Planning & Assessment Services Class!
Earlier this year, DHPSNY began accepting Planning & Assessment Services applications on a rolling basis, with three review periods scheduled throughout the year. This summer, we concluded our second application review round of 2017, and we're excited to announce that we have awarded services to eight new organizations from around the State. Deadline Extended: Register by 10/18 for Our Next Paper Care Workshop
The deadline to register for our next workshop has been EXTENDED to Wednesday, October 18th! Sign up to join us in Erie County on October 25th at the Western New York Library Resources Council in Cheektowaga for our final workshop of the year, Fundamentals of Caring for Paper Collections. This session is scheduled to take place the day before this year's Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC), just up the road in Buffalo!
Promotion Strategies Webinar Recording Now Available!
A new season of free educational webinars kicked-off this morning with Spreading the Word, an overview of marketing and promotion strategies aimed at small- and medium-sized collecting institutions. Lee Price, Director of Development at CCAHA, provided a broad overview of the evolution of media and the role of storytelling in an instuitution's marketing strategy. Amy Heuer, CCAHA's Manager of Marketing and Engagement, followed that up with many concrete suggestions on ways to use social media and other tools to engage and expand your institution's audience.

Applications open Sept. 1 for NYSCA/GHHN Supplies Grant
We're excited to help announce a fantastic grant opportunity for museum/object collections in New York State! The NYSCA and Greater Hudson Heritage Network's new Collection Needs Assessment Program offers supplies grants up to $750 for collections management supplies such as storage boxes, artifact trays, dividers, Tyvek sheeting, environmental monitors, and more!
