Today, we’re sharing resources focused on the discussion of race, diversity, and inclusion in the field of conservation, specifically through the American Institute of Conservation (AIC). Conservation is an important part of archival work, as it supports the stabilization of objects and materials for the long term.

It’s Official: DHPSNY to Provide Free Programs and Services to NYS Collecting Institutions Through 2025

This month, DHPSNY shared an official press release about the program's five-year extension. In the announcement, State Archivist Tom Ruller commented on the good news, stressing DHPSNY's important role in helping to ensure "collecting institutions across the state continue to have access to the tools they need to preserve and make available the essential materials that tell the story of New York and its people."

Antiracism Resources: Black History Month Education Resources

Part of a history educator's responsibility is to ensure that their students see themselves reflected in history classes. As we begin Black History Month, we wanted to share a selection of education resources that aim to ensure that Black History is understood as American History, and to increase the potential for students of color to be reflected in that history. The New York State Archives Partnership Trust has produced a number of online educator guides building on historical resources held by the State Archives and collecting institutions across the State.
