The deadline to complete DHPSNY's annual Statewide Survey has been extended to Friday, November 30! This important survey was developed to help identify urgent collections care needs in New York State, and your responses will directly shape the scope and content of DHPSNY's programs and services. Registration is currently open for our Tuesday, November 27 webinar Duties & Responsibilities of Nonprofit Boards. This session provides a broad overview of the fiduciary, ethical, and policy making responsibilities of the board. It covers the key functions of the board and provides practical guidance and an overview of best practices for board members to individually and collectively achieve excellence in governance performance.
The New York State Archives is pleased to announce the availability of the guidelines and application for the 2019-2020 Documentary Heritage Program (DHP) grants. DHP grants support improved access to historical records in New York State by funding arrangement and description projects and documentation projects. We're excited to announce a new class of Planning & Assessment Services sites from our summer application round of 2018. We look forward to beginning site visits for the following institutions in the coming weeks. Application materials for DHPSNY's Planning & Assessment Services are accepted year-round and reviewed three times a year. The next application review deadline is Friday, November 16th. DHPSNY staff will be on hand for this year's joint meeting of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) , Council of State Archivists (CoSA) , and National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA) . The Archives⭐Records 2018 conference will take place August 12th-19th at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C.
